I was glad when I out grew the sack of switches and started gettin' a lump of coal.
With the temps' here in the central part of the country a few lumps of coal maight come in very handy. Weather forcast is 1/4 to 1/12 inch of ice today and 10-14 inches of snow starting this evening. No school today and probably not tomorrow either. I can hear it already... What do you mean I don't get paid for the full day of work if I leave early due to road conditions.....
We got the ice yesterday and the snow is to start this afternoon. I don't usually mind snow, but it can get nasty when it comes on top of ice.
I have been keeping my spirits up though, by humming "It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas." :oo That will continue to work as long as everyone manages to drive safely. x;-)
It's a balmy 60 degrees here in upstate NY. Nae, please don't get mad at me, it's not my fault the weather here is sooooooo nice... wore a light spring jacket to work this morning and will probably open my car windows going home soaking in that fresh, warm air. I'm not rubbing it in too much, am I???
That's ok Ray. We had upper 60's during the Thanksgiving holiday while you guys were getting soaked.
Day before yesterday we had a record high of 73. I think our nice weather moved on to you. If so, you can expect this nasty stuff to head your way real soon.
Yep, but the important thing is we are keeping this thread alive. Hmmm... it seems someone just yesterday called me evil for doing that. Who could that be?
It was 35 this morning at 8:00, dry and sunny. I went out and bought gloves. Maybe I'll have the chance to wear them again some day. I haven't owned a pair of gloves in a decade.
I actually had to get out the gloves today too - Thanksgiving yielded highs in the 70s, and today highs aren't getting out of the 40s! Needless to say, I am in heaven. I HATE the Texas heat!
Oh no, you weren't called EVIL. You were told you were very BAD. You came close to evil, but didn't quite make it. The important thing is that either way, you are missing out on Santa.
Guess I bragged about our lovely weather here in NY too soon. We are expecting severe thunderstorms today with flash flooding. We had a significant flood in June and some are still living in FEMA trailers, then 2 weeks ago another big flood, some people had just finished renovations from the June flood and had it all destroyed. Snow tomorrow.
It's all Al Gore's fault - he invented global warming to irritate the Republicans.
"It's beginning to look a lot like... the North Pole" I realize this may not be much for our nothern brothers and sisters but this is the most snow we have had since 1995. We have 14 - 18 inches on the ground. Even the University of Missouri is closed. I arrived at work at 7:05, we open to the public at 8:00, and so far I am the only one here. Someone needs to be here to take the calls from eveyone that isn't coming in. Glood luck to eveyone else in this winter storm line. Stay warm.
Sorry to hear about the weather, Dutch - want to trade?
Since the bulk of those "most likely to respond" have posted on this thread, I have a question - I'm feeling particularly generous today...so generous in fact that I'm asking permission to post something (not in the mood to anger large amounts of HR personnel - we get pretty crabby).
Would anyone get COMPLETELY angry and nasty if I post a humorous little tidbit about the Democrats (i.e. Hillary and her merry men)?
Today, it's smooth sailing - no boat rocking. It's FRIDAY!
So where is the Hillary post? Just got back from sunny and warm central Mexico. Dutch I missed all the excitement of the ice and snow but the low of 8 degrees this morning sure brought me back to reality! BRRR, 3 days ago I was wearing shorts and t-shirt and I wanna go back! Coffee, I grew up in Austin so I would trade with you just about now!
The fat lady has not yet sung or signed or given any indication that it is over. Yes, moon does exist but he is heading South for a couple of months. Hope to visit with you again after that time.
Dude: a man extremely fastidious in dress and manner; DANDY. A city man. An Esterner in the West. Fellow, Guy. Do any of these fit or did you believe Moon was a dudette?
