I may like the songs, but anything these little "darlings" are singing on the "talent" search shows. Too high pitched, screeching like, oh I don't know, Mariah Carrey

You bet put it there. It only will move you up the stack, or at least get that second look. We hire mainly Masters or Ph.D. level, so anything that will let you stand out. And congratulations, job well done!

I have always been a fan of Don D. And I have always been enabled, enabling, what are we? Whatever, I am glad and proud to be Number 11 in the Don-a-Thon.

This is why we love you Don D.

I have a son in the Navy who is currently on the Abraham Lincoln. While he is not on the front line, I worry non-the-less. But I too find that I do well, then get distracted, that is when I start saying a little prayer, now I will make it bigger f…

Of all the things I have seen printed about you, I never thought I would see "generous", but Don D, you and your company are "generous". We are a not-for-profit, so just to make a paycheck we indeed carve into that bottom line.

Anyone up on Colorado law and payout of PTO pre 90 days. We currently do not have a 90 day orientation period but are considering adopting a policy in the very near future. I know Colorado is an "at will' state and probably does not recognize th…

Ditto for Colorado. I have had four asks this year to put on "common-law" spouses onto our insurance. After giving them the explanation that they would have to divorce them to get them off the insurance, only one chose to add the dependent coverag…

Thanks Don D for the x:D of the day! You have quite the imagination. I love how these threads go, from spitting to Indian gaming turf wars. Maybe spitting could become a new casino challenge.

If I was in my office at 6 a.m., with no coffee, I'd spit too! =P~

Well, I didn't spend 5 hours with him, but did spend a considerable amount of time. I did ask the "Margaret" question, about sensitivity. Guess what, he never had such a situation, in fact he sees that (his sensitive side) as one of his strengths.…

I don't know how I would get through my day without this forum. Everyone is super! xclap

This was a great exercise for me, and thanks to all of you for your input. The serverance pay must be taxed, and taxed at the supplemental tax rate, which is at 27%. Thanks again.

Just yesterday, our worker's comp provider "faxed" me a return to work certificate for one of my employees, with 2 additional pages of pre-op instructions on 2 different patients. Coincidentally, one was a board member. So much for compliance. (I …

Just an FYI, check your state regs. In Colorado, the employer pays the first three days of Jury Duty.

Sorry Don D., I was nodding off, what did you say? xI-) I had an administrator once that the Board wanted to terminate. He would nod off at his desk. He point blank told me that I would never get rid of him, because he had a physical illness. W…

When we converted from a vacation/sick time accrual package to a Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit we "banked" a majority of the employees sick time hours. First, we never had a policy that "sick" time was a "paid" benefit, or in other words if they were…

Oops, sorry about the spelling error, "proverbial". Must have been thinking about another problem coming up today, hmm Perv.... Again another day of fun and games.

Well after the traditional glass(es) of wine last night, I decided to recommend that we not pursue this avenue of banging my head against the perverbial border wall. Thanks Don D for your input, as usual you are right on!

Don D. Thanks for responding. The development director is someone who is responsible for implementing the major gifts program to build significant immediate and long-term financial support for our non-profit organization. They also will manage, cul…
