  • Here in Ashevile NC we are paying 3.99 - 4.16. If someone could figure out a way to make fuel out of all the kudzu we have growing around here we wouldn't have to worry about fuel prices.
  • >Its a mint, not a hint as I say. No, I am just addicted to the little >suckers. They are curiously fresh. I bet your dentist loves that you are addicted to those things...terrible for your teeth.

  • I want to buy the dead horse! He would be the perfect replacment for our G.M. At least he wouldn't be out creating problems that have to be solved by HR.
  • >We haven't changed anything. The fact is >Americans can afford the gas, even now. The >truth is we don't WANT to pay more. We'd >rather pay more for 'label' attire, eat out at >Red Lobster, and spend money impulsively. …
  • I was desperate! I was working in textiles in a small town in South Carolina and knew that the industry was going lose most of its jobs to foreign competition. HR was the only college curriculum offered locally that I could fit into my schedule of…

  • We do not subsidize daycare cost nor do I know of any one in our area who does. We do offer a Flex Spending account which allow employees to save money for day care by using pretax dollars.
  • >I would email ours but your profile is disabled. >If you would like it, please let me know where >to send it. Yes I would like one. Sorry to take so long getting back to you. I was at a seminar for two days & have been playi…
  • We require direct deposit. Some of the older employees objected with the usual complaints you get anytime you start a new policy but that was short lived. It actually went quite smoothly and everyone (even those that objected most) love it. Check…
  • All though FLSA doesn't specify the frequency in which a payment must be made "customarily and regulary". Employers must establish a frequency for payment and maintain it, once it has been established. I would say that the 5th & 20th are the …
  • You may pay a weighted average for all hours worked over 40 as long as the work in each department is substaintaly different. FSLA has no requirements to pay overtime for working more than eight hours in a day. We decided to pay overtime at th…
  • Yes, this is taxable. We have a similar system where our members donate to a Christmas fund & it is distrubuted to employees based on length of service. It is is taxable, but deductions for health insurance etc. are not taken out. If an empl…
  • We allow exept enployees to make up a day missed by working another day in it's place as long as it is in the same pay period.
  • Yes, It is taxable but we gross up the amount to cover the taxes. So $50.00 = $50.00 net.
  • What about a small base salary and an attractive commission. Commission certainly makes the salesman want to do his/her best.
  • The issue was the woman's daughter also worked here and when the daughter failed to complete her assignments the supervisor had a counceling session with the daughter. The daughter being a hot head, lost her cool & quit, so Mom followed suite. …

  • We do the same. But I have worked for companies that allow non-exempt personnel to have the option to take and unpaid day if they choose so they can still have the full benefit of their paid vacation.
  • We have direct deposit and allow paychecks to be split between EE's checking and savings accounts. This saves the headache of the company having to act as a fudicuary. This works well for us and the employees like it. Hope this helps.
  • Go to the Irs web site and look at IRS Publication 503 Child & Dependent Care Expenses. Your TPA is mistaken. If the spouse is out of work & physically or mentally unable to care for the child, then the childcare should be paid. Hope thi…
  • We have been partially self-funded for 7 years and of those 7 years we have only had one year that experienced a loss. This type plan has saved us a tremendous amount of money. We have 100 employees with a $20,000 stop-loss per employee and 25% of…
