I'm late seeing this post, but can't resist sharing an experience I had with a union . . . An employee was seen stealing product from the warehouse, then seen reselling the product. He even admitted to all of the above. We termed, union took it …

If you believe patients should be able to sue doctors and HMOs with no limits, vote for Kerry.

I'm with you, Whatever! This self-glorifying "Group" has directed all of the attention towards itself (however many of them there are) and thereby deflected it from where it rightfully belongs -- on the Kansas City Chiefs. It's sacrilege! At the …

Oh my goodness!! Not just me, but the entire city is crazed. It seems to be a magical season and there are several standout players -- Priest Holmes, Trent Green, Tony Gonzalez, Dante Hall! And that's just our offense! Good for your fantasy team …

hehe! I can't deny I've sat through some games wherein the Chiefs couldn't have beaten a community college team! Last night, though, was a different story. No luck involved, KC just played the heck out of'em! 8-0!

"I love the people that roll in with no handicap card displayed but whip it out once they are parked 10 steps from the front door" They don't do that to be sneaky -- they are supposed to hang it up only when they are ready to park. It says righ…

What provision do your policies contain for advance notification of using PTO? For instance, if an ee has 15 PTO days available, can he wake up on 15 mornings during the year and decide to "call in" to use a paid day off?

I get the same strip every day via email. It makes me laugh fairly frequently. I had to look up coccyx, though. It's free . . . sign up at Dilbert.com

Since obesity causes many more health problems than smoking, why are we not looking for ways to eliminate overweight people from our workforces?

Hi Catherine -- I didn't mean to offend with my comments . . . the part where you apologized several times was omitted from your original post, and the entire situation just sounded so confrontational. I,too, have had many encounters with unreasona…

What was sent was the employee's signed Section 125 elections. I would not have sent it. The employee can give his spouse a copy if he wants her to know everything he elected.

I wonder how much of the madness could have been averted with an ingenuous apology to her at the outset. The first rule when faced with an irate customer is to let them vent and express that you "feel their pain". I know she's not your customer bu…

I wish I had seen this post last week . . . I had Hepatitis C for 26 years without knowing it. During that time I got married and had two healthy kids. I managed without trying (since I was unaware of the disease) to not transmit it to my husband …

For "medical documentation" would you accept the FDA's recommendation that we each drink a minimum of 8 8oz glasses of water per day? Anyone who follows that recommendation will return a dilute sample. For that reason I think the better option is …

Pricehcs -- don't overlook the key words. The section you cited applies only to awards given for safety achievements and/or length of service.

Pork is absolutely correct. If/when she repays, you will need to run it back through payroll as negative earnings to insure her W-2 is correct at year end. She will get the tax "refund" when she files her 2004 tax return with the IRS early next ye…

Since this has "been going on for years", you may end up with cause to regret terminating her now that she is pregnant. My advice is to put all your efforts into training your supervisors!
