How do you know we won't want a long ride with Joannie's hubby? We like her, we might like him. Then your 2nd place winner would be happier than the 1st place. I think you should rethink what you thought up.
Hmm. Went to Orlando for a high school graduation (spent time with family - which is no vacation).
Went to sister's beach house in Perdido Key. Unfortunately, sister, her family and friends were there also. I got to sleep on an air mattress in the living room between two young adult couples. What a blast! Did get a good tan out on the boat though.
Going to Southern California for a non-reunion of the high school I would have gone to had my parents not forcibly moved me across the country. That will be interesting. If anyone knows about Redlands (where it will be held) then you know it is not the garden spot of the state.
Going to Lake Lure, NC (outside Asheville - Sharon, where did you go while you were there?) for yet another family gathering. Will have to sleep in my older sister's room with her since my niece always takes my room.
I'm sure there will be others...was talking last night about going back to Scotland this fall (but that isn't summer so it won't count).
Sucks to be me
I live close to Lake Lure and have a few friends with homes there. Can't beat the beauty, but it can be a bit crowded sometimes.
Well... my aunt and uncle do have a cabin that the teenagers stay in to get them out of our hair. And the way it looks while they are there is like something out of a horror movie. I wouldn't be surprised if I one day find a dead body underneath the mound of clothes, food containers and musical instruments.
My grandfather went to Lake Lure back in the 50's and fell in love with the area. There is a cove almost directly across from the leg that goes into town. That is Barnett Cove, it is named after him because he bought four lots in there. He always said the only sure investment is land, because they aren't going to make any more of it. But now some middle eastern countries are doing just that!
I had a great chat with Sonny over coffee last week, and got some tips on enjoying my vacation even more. She works in a great area! I've included a picture of us, and will point out that I am not entirely pantsless.
I considered that at the time, but then I thought that might weird Sonny out. Or Murphy, the nice guy who took the picture. Although, he seemed to have a pretty good sense of humor too, so we might have all had fun with it.
