Joannie, be careful. Paul may just be setting a trap for you. He's the resident "class clown". A court jester. I'd throw him a bone just to see how he responds.
Paul has the sidekick role all confused. Ray is always nice to me, publicly and privately. Any crap he gives me is done in a (platonically) loving way. I am always nice to ray too, except for the occasional snarkiness.
My job is not to be a "yes" girl, but fortunately my counterpart just hasn't been wrong yet. And if he ever was wrong, I'd tell him privately so he can save face and correct himself publicly.
I just have to serve the occasional Mountain Dooty, which wouldn't be so bad if he'd just remember to drop off a Diet Coke now and then. I'm working on that with him...
PCB don't you ever get tired of stirring the pot? I take offense at being described as "dishing out daily doses of devastating derision".
If I mock or make fun, it is because certain characters and creatures require the proverbial kick in the pants. Heaven knows they do not respond to counseling or gentle urging.
Uh, well, you are going to have to take that up with Joannie. But if I were you, I wouldn't mess with her. She'll knock you into next week without even spilling her coffee.

ritaanz,
Let me apologize for PCB. He seems to be misguided. And Lord knows, I'm not the one doing the guiding.
What the ????; how'd I get back into this mix! As much fun as it's been watching Paul try to smooze and grovel, it just ain't my style to be or not to be....a sidekick/master. I sense this thread straying well away from its original intent. First time that's happened!!
Actually Steaks, we're not straying from the original theme. Paul gave his characterizations of us and now his characterization is becoming evident. Notice in his original post he didn't say anything about himself.
>What?? THAT is a TOTAL and COMPLETE breach of >the sidekick relationship. You are supposed to >defend me! >
Paul, You better go back and read you "sidekick oath", No where does it say the sidekick will be defended. In fact, I believe it is the other way around.
What's this stuff about side kicks? Is that like Abbot & Costello? Laurel & Hardy? The Lone Ranger & Tonto? Luci & Desi? And for PCB's benefit, Tom & Jerry, Mickey & Minnie, Donald & Daisey? Sylvester & Tweedy?
I don't think so. We are individuals that are capable of manuvering through life on our own. Yep friends, buddies, colleagues, allies and pals are good support but side kicks? Nah!
"Ritaanz: The undisputed queen of no-nonsense Jersey attitude is back and in fine form and dishing out her daily doses of devastating derision. Current status: Full throttle" It's like Paul's description come to life; is this art imitating life or vice versa?
Thank you ritaanz! I've been trying to get out of this somehow, but Paul is soooooooooo needy. I really think he might need a full time keeper. Do you suppose M. Lee Smith might assign him his own personal moderator. They could possibly put his posts on tape delay.
Oops, another post misdirected/misunderstood. No, I was actually complimenting both Rita and Paul: Rita for being who she is and who we all appreciate, and Paul for being so accurate!! As someone stated earlier, I certainly would not intentionally insult or degrade anyone.
Joannie, our relationship is off to a rocky start. Please go back and re-read the sidekick oath. I think you will see that you have been shirking some of duties to shield me from the consequences of my actions.

He will be a faithful sidekick

That's enough for now. I have
to go back to my hall monitor
position.

We may have to re-think this arrangement. Your reference checks are lacking.
My job is not to be a "yes" girl, but fortunately my counterpart just hasn't been wrong yet. And if he ever was wrong, I'd tell him privately so he can save face and correct himself publicly.

What? We are still talking about Ray, right? I am choking on this baloney.
By the way, awesome replies Joannie! LOL!!! Keep up the good work. xclap xclap xclap
As a fellow sidekick, feel free to point out any of my annoying habits too. I'll be sure to do them twice as much. x;-)

I hate to do this put I am putting you on notice.

PCB, you just hammered the last nail into place. I rest my case. Amen.

Ray - Safe?
