Just curious what others use as a minium job requirement for HR Assistant.  Do you require 2 yr degree, experience specifically in Human Resources?

  • I require the ability to learn.  But I think it would really depend on the position requirements.  I've been in environments where the HR Asst was really just a receptionist/secretary for the dept and other environments where the HR Asst processed benefit enrollments, helped employees on the phone, ran reports, and did a number of things that a jr. generalist may do in other companies.

So I guess it would depend on what your Asst will be doing.

  • gives you nice job descriptions and salary ranges and education requirements for your area.  It's a great tool to use to see what others in your area are doing.
