It's amazing that it wasn't that long ago in our history people actually believed that stuff. In essence, they were treated like children.
I liked the comment about cantankerous older women. Now I understand why Joannie is the way she is.
In the mid-to-late '80s I was a newspaper editor. A competitor still had its Help Wanted section of the classifieds divided into sections: "Jobs for Men" and "Jobs for Women". That was barely 20 years ago, folks.
