One of my HR staff is going to the Vegas Seminar... Does anyone know the dress code?
Thanks!

(not like a show girl or anything, but maybe jeans) HA!
Thanks!
I'd bet business casual is appropriate. Jeans would probably be too casual, except maybe on the last day, if it's a half-day. I didn't look at the agenda, since I'm not going.
Any of you forumites who attend need to wear a pink carnation so you can find each other. Please gather for a group photo and post it on the Forum. I want to see what real HR people who actually attend seminars for their own professional development actually look like. Wish I could go! x:-(
Ok, seriously, my guess would be that Vegas is more on the informal side but you still dont want to look like you are on your way to the golf course or the slots. You should look professional. Image is important.
I would also keep the weather in mind.
All that said, I have never been to Vegas so I am just making this up.

So, are we all in agreement? No pants? Great!
So what about the women wearing dresses who are not forumites? Wouldn't you be a bit embarrassed to approach one of them, make a rude comment, and discover they didn't have a clue as to what you were talking about?
I realize I am new here- but do you have a _thing_ about wearing pants- and if so, have you tried a kilt?
;-)
Paul, here's some advice: Get a life! ;-)
Wait! Was Paul the one who said Frank was pantless in the first place? Maybe this has been going on longer than I thought!
I just thought it would be fun if all the Forumites in Vegas wore shorts. That's all.
Plus, I am not even going to Vegas.
Maybe a bouquet of carnations should be worn, in red, blue, and yellow, to match the forum logo. It is up to the individual WHERE to wear those carnations. Take some photos and we'll all vote on most creative placement.
I'll be here in Tempe with some interesting visuals in my head. Enjoy Vegas!
I would expect that from Joannie but not you Q.
OK, back up to the high road now.
For the forumites who are going pantsless, please remember that the hem of your shorts must at least reach your fingertips when your arms are hanging at your sides. If you have gorilla arms, that is your problem. We probably didn't want to see your legs anyway.
No denim, no iron on patches, and no visible undergarments. You know who you are.
Just trying to protect some of my favorite people in the whole world from having to see some (probably) pretty frightening legs. I'll send you some pink leg warmers so you can dole them out to anyone who violates the dress code. x:D

On the other hand - and I know this makes me sound even stranger than I probably am - I have NEVER had a good time in Vegas. Or, for that matter, in New Orleans... Two cities I absolutely detest going to.
I'm with you on Vegas and New Orleans - lived in Vegas for a while, and that was enough to make me never want to visit there!
To be honest, I would probably feel the same way. Maybe thats why I have never gone to either of those cities.
I think the gambling would bother me.
Joannie! I can't believe you walked into that one! It must have been a case of just being too late in the day. ;-)
