Mine was #74 in the 50's when I was born, but #21 in the 80's, so I guess my folks were ahead of their time when it came to names.

We just named our daughter Madelyn (I wanted an old name, hubby wanted something unusual-so we met 1/2way) and that spelling is ranking at 116.

That is pretty cool. My name didn't surprise me much. It started to dwindle in popularity after I was born. What surprised me was my daughters name. Molly. I named her after my mother and thought it was an old name. But no, it is more popular now. But I still don't hear of many Molly's. Oh well.

My name is dropping in popularity. In 2003 it was #62. It was #4 in the 70's when I was born. My husband, on the other hand, has the most popular name from the 50's through the 90's. His name in 2003 is #2.

My name is #5,386th in usage, much higher in popularity of course, particularly in the south-east where the welcome mat is always out. Gillian became popular in the 70's and has been going up ever since. She was born in 1982 so we were on the front end of that one.
