I have heard it said that one may remain vertical after a six pack, thus tall. But, after a 12 pack, the time-honored position is 'long'. And you will note the post in question was offered at 7:53 a.m. I still say it is offensive to ask someone how tall he/she is. There must be an ill motive behind that question, especially if it's preceded or followed by the word 'squirt', as in "Say, Squirt, those stilettos make you look almost 5.5 feet tall." Or if one were to say to Ritaanz, "Say there Beanpole, what's the weather like up there?" And this brings up the question of 'wide'. Shall we take this one up or have another tread for it?
"I still say it is offensive to ask someone how tall he/she is. There must be an ill motive behind that question,"
Now think about that. The asumption that the motive is maleficent could be off. 'Squirt' and 'beanpole' may be terms of endearment depending on the source. Maybe another thread, big guy.

"Big guy"? I hope Don isn't offended by that.
You forget I work for government.

Have we advertantly moved to 'wide?' My guess is most of the forumites active in this discussion will lean away from/skirt this angle.
