I have been on a low carb way of eating since Jan 03 and have lost a ton of weight. Hang in there !!
Depending on how many carbs you ate before will have something to do with your "withdrawls". It will help if you can purchase the Aitkins book. But it will really help to drink lotza water. Also take vitamines especially B complex, E, and C. The vitamines will help with the cravings also. Stay away from diet sodas for the first few weeks as they can have a tendency to kick in the craving for sugar. There is a great inexpensive bread by Country Hearth - 12 grain, wheat and Italian, the candy bars are a life saver for me on high stress days.
Remember, you can subtract the fiber from the carbs also sugar alcohol is subtracted etc. again the book explains all that and opens up your choices of foods.
LAST EDITED ON 10-17-03 AT 08:24AM (CST)[p]I don't know anything about the Atkins diet, so I'm been listening to each of you. I would be allowed 20 carbs / day for the first two weeks. Am I looking at this right, there are 41 carbs in a can of Pepsi? I'm already done for today AND tomorrow.
Paul's in with baby Anna - but you notice the trend has become to post two! One in shirt one not...go for it. I happen to have an in with the calendar editor x:D.
Switch to Diet Pepsi, just that alone will cut a few pounds in a few months. Trust me - if can do it, anyone can. I used to be a real Pepsi girl, never thought I could manage, but I did.
I actually thought Nutra Sweet was bad for you too! I could stand to cut a few pounds, easily, so if you tell me to try Diet Pepsi, I'm going to do it, darn it! My metabolism shut down years ago and I need some help! x;)
I think you have to "pick your poison" if you can't cut out the soda altogether. I know that's it's made a difference in my weight, now to get rid of the caffeine............
I got rid of the caffiene during the induction. Had a 9 day headache, but once it was gone, I felt wonderful. Several months have passed and I don't even miss the caffiene. Drinking lots of tea and caffeine free, sugar free drinks.
Mjindra: Don't forget; you and I are going lighthouse hunting. We will work off those extra pounds. Before there was Atkins, there were lighthouse hunters! x:-) Trust me.x0:)
Mjindra: Don't let these boys throw you off. You know how they try to twist my words. Remember, the rest of them called you a redhead. I didn't. I got it right the first time! Don't listen to them! I'm the only one who gives the great backrubs and will cook breakfast.
