LAST EDITED ON 05-06-03 AT 11:09AM (CST)[p]Great questions. I'm copying several of them. I like asking "If you had the authority at your last job to change anything, what would you change and why?" Nix the people who say more holidays, longer breaks, etc. I look for someone who would improve processes, equipment, etc. Also, "What is the most difficult situation you have found yourself in in the work environment and how did you handle it?" I use this one for front desk staff and my HR assistant! Can they stay calm and react appropriately while they are thinking "OH MY GOD!" Barbara
Thank you all for your great responses. I should be able to get a pretty good insight into the candidate; however, as we all know there are those who are "expert interviewees" and can pass anything thrown at them only to end up being the employee from hell.
Thanks again for all your help!!
I plan on putting an interview notebook together with all the questions.
