One useful quote is from ben franklin who said that half the truth is often the biggest lie...we use that when debating whether to disclose something---lots of fraud claims could have been avoided by following that simple but wise advice...reagrds,mike maslanka
I remember this poem from Elementary School (many, many years ago) because I thought it was so profound. I use it often in HR as well as every day life. It goes..........
I put my hand upon my heart And swore that we would never part.
I wonder what I would have said If I had put it on my head.
although parts of it don't help me at work, it's one of my favorites:
"Love like you've never been hurt, work like you don't need the money, and dance like nobody is watching"
If more of my employees worked like they didn't need the money, and actually enjoyed what they did, I believe it would be a much nicer work environment...and they might actually get something done.
Bama, good quote---in his book 'Start with No",Jim Camp makes a similar obervation in the negotiating context---realize that there are only a handful of things you really need and everything else is just a bunch of unnecessary wants and you will have the upper hand...Regards from texas, mike maslanka

If you have to eat a frog, do it right away. If you have to eat more than one, eat the biggest first.
They can kill you, but they can't eat you.
I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing -
that it was all started by a mouse.

My favorite quote - "The Good Lord put us on this earth to help one another".
Also, from "Life's little Instruction Book" (#85) - Never encourage anyone to become a lawyer.
