I would turn it in to your WC carrier and let them make the call. I have heard it argued both ways. It would depend on the circumstances on liability. .did they trip over their own feet or trip over broken concrete you should have had repaired? …

I don't know what state you are in, but here in FL the state publishes just what you are looking for. .we are a municipality so that may make a difference b/c we have to keep everything.

Another indication that something is truly awry in the universe

We have offered a VSIP (vol. seperation incentive package) with some success. You must be at your normal retirement date per our plans or within one year. Incentive was we pay three years of your health insurance or take cash equivilent (sp) there…

We have jsut been talking about this. Who will define "affordable"?. .Also, I don't get the last sentence, but maybe I dont' need too? We currently define FT as 40 hours. Most of our PT work 20-25 but there are a couple at 30-32. I figured we wi…

Here it would be based on our policy which states ee would have to work 1/2 day before he got his vacation back. .I do know of some places that if you come in for a minute, you get the whole day paid.

We would pay.

and I agree with yor thinking library. If you have it in writing it stops the "no one ever told me "syndrome. I recently had someone tell me just that re: sex harrassment policy. I totally enjoyed showing him not one but two pieces of paper that …

As SNC indicates, ours is part of other policies, not stand alone
-
I'm with you.

Our carrier's attorney and ee's attorney would have the ball at this point. We ask that they not settle without our knowledge and keep us in the loop. Sometimes these have gone quickly, others. . .well. .LONG. In my opinion, thre is no average tim…

Just curious. . how long has ee worked for you?

PS. . Try doing a search Drug Free Work Place in. . your state

It is early for me to be focused but I think that was a hypothetical. Who is doing the on-site testing? Our pre-employment drug testing is done as part of the physical and the employee goes to the apt. alone. Have had a couple who never showed fo…

Like Nae irregardless drives me NUTS

I am not sure I have a definitive answer, but I can tell you what I have experienced. At one point we had auditors who said we did have too much liability out there on unused vacation leave. We capped it and did unilaterally pay everyone down to t…

I agree with your very old book. We are seeing more and more garnishments. . the worst is actually from a bankruptcy. .poor guy does not even take home $100.00 a week
