• Thankfully I've never really had a weight problem. Running helps control a lot of it. Although I did notice now that I'm pushing the big 40 I can't eat anything and everything like I used to. So I just started watching my carbohydrate intake. I'…

• I got chicken pox late in life...from my kids. So to 'thank' them I offered to give them a ride to school (when I was no longer contagious) and of course I walked them to their homerooms. They were in the elementary/middle schools at that time and…
• AMEN!!!
• Don, you may be right but I won't know for sure for another 13 years, but for now I'm going to respectfully disagree with you. I will be 37 in October and I am married to a man who turns 50 in September. (I'm having a surprise party for him in Aug…
• We are all entitled to our opinions but speaking on behalf of all of the 'forum junkies' I believe most of us find it a great reprieve from the chaos in our jobs. It's a great way to not only escape for a few minutes a few times most days but the w…
• It sounds like you have a great friend! Yes, I have to say that my husband has surprised me on numerous occasions. I'm not a huge fan for the "hallmark" type holidays (Valentine's Day, Sweetheart's Day, etc.) The best flowers, gifts, etc. are rece…
• I'm not a big chocolate eater but when the urge overcomes me I usually choose a butterfinger or snickers bar. When you're at the movies and you buy your popcorn include Reese's pieces cuz it goes great together.
• I like it! Good luck with the new business.
• So tell us Leslie, did you come up with a name yet??
• All of the concrete companies where I live use the last name of the owner or the city/location of the business. For example, Dells Concrete; Midwest Concrete. Appropriate but not very original. I've also heard of people naming their companies A…
• My co-worker and I are always fighting over the thermostat. He wants it as low as possible and believes 68 degrees is perfect whereas I think 75 degrees is perfect. Most days we compromise but I always keep a sweater nearby. He is out of the offi…
• Fried egg sandwich and potato chips. Great midnight snack! But I won't have the egg sandwich if there aren't any chips to go with it.
• Ugh! I can't stand milk and never could understand why people would want to make their cookies all soggy. x:-)
• The dirty deed is done. It wasn't pleasant but it could have been worse. He didn't scream, yell or make any threatening remarks. He was calm which in itself could be frightening. As someone said, we just need to do our jobs which unfortunately…
• I agree! Its rained the last eight days straight. We had quite a thunderstorm last night. Our business is road construction and living in the midwest we have a very short window of time to get all of our work done. The rain definitely does not…
• October 25th so that makes me a Scorpio. In my wilder days (a couple of years ago) I got a tattoo of a scorpion on the top of my left foot. 8-}
• OMG! What a beautiful baby! My two girls are 17 and 13 and you forget how little they once were! Last night my oldest daughter and I dug out some home movies of when she was about two years old. We laughed and had such a good time. Paul - be su…
• I don't think diets work very good. Once you put restrictions on what you can and what you cannot eat it almost becomes obsessive. You can hold it off for awhile but eventually you're going to binge. The best thing to do is to cut back and eat sm…
• LAST EDITED ON 07-03-03 AT 01:36PM (CST)[p]I also had a betta (he was red) and I called him Ruby Tuesday, thus my forum name. He lived for two years and for some reason he always brought me comfort. Somedays I…
• We are a road construction company located in a tourist area in Wisconsin. We have lots of water parks both indoor and outdoor. Below are a few of the things we do: Company Picnic is held at a large waterpark. We rent one of the pavillions and ha…
• Don, I love your imagination - great descriptions!
• I have never heard of a Van Dyke. My husband has what I always referred to as a goatee but I guess I stand corrected. At any rate - goatee or van dyke. I love them!

• I agree with Safety - I can't stand what I call RapCrap. Anything by Eminem or any of those groups that promote violence. I know all about the First Amendment but come on isn't there a limit of how far one can go?? Some of these songs contain lyr…
• Assuming you are considered a small plan, the notice of privacy practices must be given to each employee as of April 14, 2004. From that point on the employees must be given a copy every three years. To make it easier, we're just going to include …
• We are a road construction company and we too provide 6 shirts to each of our crewmembers. There are a few positions (foremen, mechanics and a couple of the operating positions) that use a uniform service - we do not charge them for this service. …
• I feel your pain. We are a construction company and like you we were finding it very difficult to find qualified drivers. We ended up selling a large number of trucks from our fleet and renting trucks/drivers. It has worked out fantastic for us. …
• We require applicants to complete the application at our facility. One of the reasons is we can be sure the application is completely filled out and if we have questions the person is on hand to ask. By having them complete the applications at your…
• Thanks everyone for your thoughts and comments! I was able to find something in an employment law manual. I suppose I should have looked there first but I learn so much from all of you.
