  • You are correct, Pork, she is unaware of this corporate reorganizing. Unfortunately, the Accounting Department (2 employees total) is the only area being phased out at this time. This ee doesn't take change well, so I wanted to talk with her pri…

  • Oh my, DJ, I'm sorry to hear this but I can only chime in with the others and extend my good thoughts your way. You are not alone! Cheryl C.
  • That's ugly. I wouldn't hire him. However, he would be expected to follow the rules of conduct like any other ee in your facility. He sure knows what his fate would be if he did it again and were caught.
  • Aside from it being a free country and he can stand wherever he wants and e-mail whomever he wants, it does creap one out to think he can't let go and it vocalizing his frustrations this way. I'm not a lawyer so aside from what's legal to do here…
  • Document protection is as important as being overheard on a confidential call. Having a private room to store documents and/or to have conversations is a start. Cheryl C.

  • 3 hrs or 3 yrs, what's the difference in the eyes of the IRS? They want their $$. Cheryl C.

  • Lots of good suggestions so far. Wish I had seen them a long time ago. There's a woman I supervise that is this way with me. Nothing I have done for the past 9 years has helped. So now I just do my job and smile. I'm sure she has a photo of me …

  • You can't expect old equipment to handle a new program (wasn't there a thread in the funny section that warned about this?). Anyway, we upgrade our computers every 2 years through our national lease account. The new flat screens have several set…

  • Good luck in your shift...but unless your superiors support it, you'll probably be made to feel like you failed somehow. I'd rather see you get more training or get even 2 assistants to help with the workload so you can catch your breath and feel…

  • I sent our policy to your e-mail address. Cheryl C.
  • Ditto. One of my husband's meds was put into a 'non-forumulary' category and we were notified in writing by the carrier.
  • That is a very good question! I've wondered how many hats were required on the rack before I would be considered a Manager. Guess I'll know when we do reviews next week. Cheryl C.
  • Our company has left no room for offense by dictating what our signatures can contain and even the font and size. I received an e-mail yesterday from a vendor with the signature containing this little gem of wisdom: "The secret to enjoying your …
  • After our recent little "Friendly Takeover", proper table manners were used by all Forumites at each local establishment visited. A 'pusher' was discretely used by each person and not one raised eyebrow or fainting patron was seen anywhere. Can th…

  • I think YES, especially in mixed company. Cheryl C.
  • Wait a minute, Sam, I'm a long-time pusher but bread/biscuits/rolls with real cream butter are my weekness and go straight to my hips. So I usually just use my knife.
  • Hey Don, how's the knees? Careful or you could get one kicked with comments like that.

  • Ok, would you keep all 3 files together in one hanging file with ee's name on it or would they be kept separately in different locations (i.e one in HR office, one in Supervisor's office, etc)?
  • Congrats! It was in the low 40's here over the weekend but, sigh, it won't last they say. Down to the 20's again by the weekend.
  • I didn't learn until after I was hired that my predecessor was arrested in this office and taken out in handcuffs for dealing drugs. Of course it didn't affect my outlook on the job but it sure explained why other office people watched me closely a…

  • Our manufacturing plant has about 35 employees. Our full-time temps are brought in for 3 months before we hire them. Last quarter of 2004 we brought in 8 temps and hired 2. So far this year we've brought in 3 temps. Sounds like your ration is ab…
