I agree with your change and the manager needs to buy a modern dictionary.

We also print them separately and plan to keep it that way. I would think that if you've had them separate and then combine them it could send a message to existing employees that you're putting less emphasis on one or the other (IMHO).

The voices in your head???

Very helpful, Larry! I'll print it for my 19-yr-old who is out of work again...sigh... Only one thing I'd add, though. You alluded to language (sort of) in #4. Candidates should have a decent/good command of the language that they'll be required …

It's Friday...a good time to decompress before going home.

We will be closed the 4th officially. But if many more people come to me requesting the 3rd off, we may not have even a skeleton crew to keep operations open on the 3rd. Works for me!

Yes! That's probably THE most frustrating thing I deal with in my office. No one wants to be the bad guy by putting a written warning in an employee's file. I do it myself whenever I know about a situation but since they have learned this, I'm so…

Most insurances cover employees while they're on the clock. We have our ees clock out if they're going to leave the premises for their lunch break but if they are not leaving, they don't have to clock out.

AMEN! My adult daughters would tell you that I don't act my age and probably never will xB-)

He probably tossed it in the garbage recepticle in his car.

No you don't have a right to keep the tape. If you need evidence, take a picture. If she's being truthful that it was NOT supposed to arrive at the office, she should be mortified and that's often enough punishment for it to never happen again.

How 'bout "Maintenance Manager"?
-
Don't know if it's necessary but we also list "legally adopted children".
-
If the procedure did not include the breast, why was the woman required by the male tech to remove her bra and cover with a towel?
-
Nope. In fact, I'd find it impossible to work in the same building with them.
-
Oh how sad! We would allow him to take a reasonable amount of time off (2-3 days) but he'd have to cover it from his vacation bank. Cheryl C.

There was another thread on this topic awhile ago but I can't seem to find it. I think you must get the facts. If there was legal action, I would think employee B has some document to back up her story or something could be found on-line. Chery…

No, but you may get into trouble if you don't! There are no women in our office at the age they'd want to have children, but if we hired one with this need, we'd find an empty office quick! Cheryl C.

Better start looking for a tunnel...

Welcome to the forum Kristen! We don't have a written policy for rehires but we usually reinstate them to full benefits and seniority if they're rehired within a year. Cheryl C.

For one thing, I decided to be a bit more choosy in who(m?) I call. I found that I was calling people just because I was in my car and had a phone...not because I had anything particularly interesting to say. It sounds crazy I know, but I even s…

Larry you have a perfectly good point and a right to rant. I must confess that I used to be one that had to be on my phone all the time. I have been reformed. x0:) Cheryl C.

Paul, you made a good point but let me explain. Once upon a time we had a female Pruchasing Manager that frequently wore very low cut blouses and tight pants. Her office was next to the plant. Our Plant Foreman (male) actually complained about …

You've received some very good advice here. I've never had to deal with this so I'm glad to learn what to do just in case. I work in a male-dominant manufacturing facility. If we had this problem with one of our ees I'd feel inclined to have a mal…

Our company does nothing for birthdays, etc. Nada. If I sat in the corner office, though, we would. Cheryl C.

Happy Belated Birthday James! I didn't get on the forum yesterday to read/post. I hope you got your "camel ride". To answer the post, we do not have parties of any kind here. Our VP is a JW and frowns on such things as birthday or holiday part…

LAST EDITED ON 01-27-06 AT 06:02PM (CST)[br][br]I had a 2nd go 'round with ee today. She knows her station will be in the front lobby where there's plenty of light. She said nothing about it being a problem. I…

She's never really ASKED for accommodations before that I'm aware of nor has anyone else in our office. A pretty healthy bunch we are. I think she's been catered to a lot in this office mostly because employee #2 (retiring soon) has mothered her a…

I will request a physician's certificate if this is an issue that she verbalizes in our chat on Friday. If she doesn't bring it up, I will assume that it is not an issue that she isn't willing to live with in the new surroundings.
