OTC Meds Out on Desk

We had a complaint from a supervisor that one of her reports has a number of OTC medications out on her desk (vitamins, pain relief, allergies, etc.)

Should we ask her to put this collection in a desk drawer or is it something we don't need to get involved with?

  • Seems like some supervisor doesn't have enough to do!

I see nothing wrong with having them out unless she is dispensing them to other employees or they are being stolen.  You can ask her to put them in her desk, but you don't have to do so.  My only real concern would be for medication that is 'behind the counter' at the pharmacy....well, that and certain OTC medications that can make employees drowsy. But if she is not forcing others to take these OTC meds, honestly I would leave it alone.
