Non-Union Grievance Policy

Just curious if other non-union employers have formal grievance policies for those employee who feel the corrective action they received was unfair. Our policy basically states; you take a verbal grievance to your supervisor if necessary take a written the the Administrator, if they still feel unfair treatment they can have Director of Human Resources review the action & make decision, and finally there last resort would be brining the greivance to the CEO. I have worked in both union and non-union envirnments and this is the first grievance policy I have seen outside of a union environment. Thoughts? Success? Issues?

I like the idea of calling it problem solving--very focused on the positive and working together for a solution.
