Evaluating an exempt employee(lawyer) with a reduced work schedule

A new mother (associate lawyer) requested a reduced work schedule and the Firm agreed to it. Now one of the partners sent out a memo saying that "she was collecting information about how this lawyer is doing, and in particular, how her 80% commitment is working out or if you have any views on this, or on how her work is going more generally, please drop by and let her know."

I am concerned that since we agreed to the 80% schedule that we are setting ourselves up if the reviews are based on the 80% schedule and not on the overall quality of work. Thoughts? Thanks.
