Stressful Tuesday

My friends, please send me good thoughts this afternoon. I have a second interview for a job I really, really think I want AND a date tonight as well. I'm not really sweating the interview - I'm sure it will go well because the first one was AWESOME. However, I have butterflies in my stomach about the date (but I think that will go well too which is WHY I have butterflies!). I've been doing the "eHarmony thing" and so far am loving it. I signed up two weeks ago and already have two dates lined up (this is after having emailed back and forth extensively as well as talked on the phone several times - don't worry I'm meeting in public places and being smart about it... I've got Don D's number on speed dial on my cell phone just in case I need backup). x;)

Actually it turns out I'm about five blocks away, by Cinderella's reckoning. I don't have it here at the office because of our no weapons policy, but I'd be happy to loan her my .357 revolver just as protection (if she can lift it, that is). x;-)

Good luck, Cin. All you're doing is meeting a guy. Just think of him as an applicant. (Maybe that's why I don't date more! I keep asking for resumes over dinner!) x;-)

Don, while I respect your assumed ability with firearms, NO ONE borrows my handgun. But I'll rent it to you (you pay for the ammunition and clean it when you're through). x;-) Hopefully, as it's now 8 pm here in Portland, Cinderella is having a wonderful time on her first date. x:-)

Hi everyone, thanks for all of the encouragement and kind words. x:)

The interview was kind of a blur. It was one of those that you don't really know how you did because the person doing the interviewing didn't seem to care all that much either way. It was weird but I'm not worried about it. We'll see if anything comes out of it, but if not then I won't cry about it.

The date was a little more disappointing. The pictures he sent me weren't, um, recent even though he said they were. He also lied about his height....which I don't care about the height, but do care about the lie. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

I have another date this Thursday with a different guy. We'll see how that one goes! x:)

Well, he's 26 and said he was 5'11". I'm 5'6" and could look him straight in the eye without wearing heels. I mean, I know some people exaggerate a little on some things, but come on...5'11" when you're really 5'6" or 5'7"? Next thing you know he will have a bridge to sell me.

There are plenty of great people online and I'm one of them. I'm just not interested in dating someone I work with (b/c I'm in HR), or meeting some player at a bar. I work and go to school so it's not like I have time to scope out the other so-called places that the good guys are at.
