I know there a lot of football fans here, so ya'll will be able to appreciate my excitement! This weekend is a holiday in Ohio...Michigan weekend! I will be heading to Columbus to cheer on our Buckeyes and celebrate with a couple thousand of my closest friends! We are getting up at 5 (yes, A.M.!!!) for the annual Kegs and Eggs breakfast, then heading to a friends to watch the game! Should be a GREAT weekend!

Ohio St. is my 2nd favorite team. I spent 4 years in Cedarville, near Dayton and my son lives near Columbus. I'll be watching them on TV this Saturday cheering them on.

I arrived there as a young Florida girl who knew nothing about this rivalry. Of course, come the first big party I had to take a side. My Dad was from Michigan and always being one to go against the grain a bit (EVERYONE was a Buckeye fan being half the campus was from Columbus) I declared myself a Wolverine (besides I didn't like Woody) and have rooted for them for the subsequent 30 (ouch) years. Lots of memories of some GREAT parties tho glad Kegs and eggs (ick) came after my time.

Sorry Nichole, but the Meechigan Wolverines will be singing "Hail to the Victors" late Saturday night. The Bucks won't beat us at THE HOUSE. Good luck in the Outback Bowl and see you next year at THE SHOE.

you're all concentrating on the wrong game. The best game in the country is Saturday at noon. University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) vs. Louisiana State University (LSU). This is said to be the best matchup in the SEC in over 40 years. Lots riding on it. Tickets are being scalped at 2000 bucks. One add says, Pay $1800 for this Ole Miss pencil and we throw in two tickets. That gets around the law I guess. Good luck to your teams too, but hope you can catch a piece of this one. Manning could go Heismann with this game.

Holy cow! What happend!?? I am still in a bit of shock! Doesn't matter, I still love my Buckeyes...Ready for next year!! We are going to the game next year for our wedding present! I still HATE Michigan!

Nicole, Nicole. It's this HATE thing that gets in the way. It's just a game, an insignificant little diversion on the road of life, not worth getting all that worked up over. And what happened was (I understand you were blinded by HATRED) the bucks just met a superior, more talented, more athletic, better prepared, better coached..(locker room bs goes on and on...)...football team. So, get some therapy for your unreasonable HATE syndrome, put the game in its proper perspective, and JUST CHILL! When my daughter (now a med student in, uhh, ahem, Ohio) was born, our neice was going to OSU so we taught the kid to say Go Bucks. Nearly got her killed in this neck of the woods. PS Don't tell anyone, but I HATE Notre Dame!

As a native Iowan, I am required to detest both Michigan and Ohio State. However, I will say that Hail to the Victors is absolutely the best college fight song. No contest. So I didn't mind hearing it several times on the highlights Saturday night.

Well, the perfect therapy for anyone whose team lost is to watch the N.O. Saints on Sunday. Watching them will give you a superior appreciation for your team, no matter how badly you lost on Saturday. (The Delta State Fighting Okra are still doing well).

I don't know, Don.... I've suggested to some of my "Giants" friends that we start wearing bags over our heads with cutouts for eyes and mouth like the Saints fans did several years ago.

Had to chime in for the Buckeyes. November 22nd was a sad day for those of us in Columbus, but I can say we still partied til dawn!

No. The BCS arrangement matches specific place finishers from one conference against another.

The only way it would happen would be if they happened to finish 1-2 in the BCS standings, in which case they would meet in the national championship game. In turn, that would be unlikely to happen unless it was the one year out of 10 that they don't play each other, so they could both go undefeated.

Try something different and spring for dinner! Buy the kids something they can remember you for.....besides a framed photo of you and the little woman.

I've been away from the Forum for a while, and imagine my surprise to see this thread waiting for me when I returned! Despite what happened at The Game -- GO BUCKS! As for the Michigan fight song, if anyone wants to see the alternate version of the words to Hail to the Victors (I get dizzy/nauseous even typing the title) please e-mail me -- it's not for the faint at heart. Whatever happened, we are still the defending NATIONAL CHAMPIONS, and Jim Tressel is amazing.
