After mentioning that I thought the dress code was unfair and that men should be allowed to wear sweaters over their dress shirts, the dress code Nazi gave in. She agreed that it would be okay so long as we wear a dress shirt under the sweater. Just in time for the cold weather!

Just watch out what kind of sweater you wear to work. One of our new hires came in today wearing a cardigan ('cause it finally, finally got cold here), and the VP is now calling him "Mr. Rogers."

wow! good for you. I tried this a week or 2 ago, and the response was "no sweaters for men because they are supposed to wear a tie." I was going to propose ties (with dress shirt,ofcourse) under the sweater, but figured that was even more cumbersome than just a shirt and tie...

After too many years of three peice suits and zany ties, I sure don't miss those rigid dress codes. Business casual is the how we do it here and blue jeans are ok on days when we are buried in our offices with no outside contact. I know this sort of thing can get too relaxed but I like the casual approach.
