I love Thomas Kinkade's work...I went to a store dedicated to him once, boy are his paintings expensive! So I resort to putting together his puzzles and gluing them...that and his calenders.

Have you ever seen the painting "Split Rock"? It is a real lighthouse in Minnesota, just recently he started painting a series of real lighthouses. When we originally saw the painting we DROVE 7 hours to see the real thing, we took pictures of it from the same angle as the painting and we actually purchased the painting about 3 months ago. Strange, huh? People have asked me what's so cool about lighthouses, but I just can't explain it! Anybody who doesn't know Thomas Kinkade's work just needs to check out the paintings. He's the "Painter of Light".
What's cool about lighthouses is 1) view from the top after you about die climbing up 2) Their history 3) they are near large bodies of water 4) their symbolism

You and me both! I became acquainted with Kinkade via jig saw puzzles. I buy every one I can find, and have done 3 of his 3000-piece puzzles (actually, I forgot to mention that one of them is in a puzzle caddy under my bed, along with the storage boxes and cat toys mentioned in my original answer). I have purchased two of his prints at one of his specialty stores - both on the day I had my first interview for my current job (my spouse discovered the store in the area while I was in the interview.) Felt like a good omen, which proved correct!
My mother introduced me to his works years ago with a book he had about home and love and marriage and faith-- she gave it to me and my husband as an anniversary gift. Since that time, I've managed to collect a few of his paintings and a few of his signature plates. There is just something about looking at his art that soothes and calms me.
