I am 29 also, (for 3 months longer anyway!) and have been in HR for about 4 yrs. I really enjoy HR and the fact that you have to learn something new everyday. I really like the people part of it. I haven't regretted my decision to have a career in HR. I am thankful for the forum. It really has helped me make decisions. Thanks everyone for your vast amount of knowledge!! Have a good day!
I am 25 years old and have been in HR for too many years already! But I enjoy what I do and have just found this wonderful forum! I have enjoyed reading ya'll responding! it is true, I feel like I am a little girl in the field at times!
I am 32 and have been in HR for 9 years. Wow! It seems like yesterday when I got started. I still feel like I'm in my 20's. Does that count? ;;) Anyway, I've been through extensive training since I've been in HR (Mostly at the beginning), but I've still learned about as much through this forum. It's great!
It's so great to be able to visit this site. I am 24 and I got started getting involved in HR almost 6 years ago. I've always wanted to work with people, I wanted to know the laws about everything, my husband tells me I am in the wrong profession and that I should really be a lawyer because I want to know it all.
I started by being a receptionist (one of my first real jobs!) with the same company 6 months later I was promoted to a staffing clerk and started my HR career, though with not so much training I learned where to go and to find answers on my own therefore I was able to educate and present facts to other co-workers. I spend two years doing employment administration for a Non-profit hospital and now I've spent two years working in the hospitality industry.
I honestly cannot see myself doing something else, I recently received my HR Generalist Certificate and I am very proud of that also thankful for to the great company I work for, for their support, I am thankful to have a great boss as well as be around a great group of employees, not perfect but they are great!
I know I still have a long time to go till I really know my stuff, but I made a choice to start early so that I can just get wiser as some of you already are!

My nicknames at the office......."young-in" "little chippy"
I am just glad that someone else has a nikname. I am the youngest in my office, and I am affectionatly nicknamed "wittle girl" or the "college girl(even though I am a bit our of college)". Generally, this comes after a discussion of 60's & 70's music, TV, etc. which occured prior to my birth!
