401(k) Intimidation?

I have an ee who has enrolled in our 401(k) plan. She wants to designate her children as beneficiaries under the plan. Her husband has refused to sign the spousal consent permitting this and is demanding that she not participate in the plan at all. x:o I am told he is extremely controlling.
I have never encountered anything like this before. Any input would be deeply appreciated!
