Anybody have any information on how the new HIPAA privacy regulations affect Workers compensation recordkeeping, administration, etc?

WC is not covered by HIPAA.

Just read an article confirming that W/C is not covered by HIPAA. Neither fully insured nor self-funded plans are covered. PHI applies only to covered health plans.

Can you tell me where to access this article? I recently went to a seminar and they told us they were not sure yet, but that it was possible that HIPAA might apply to WC.
