2006 holiday schedule

For those of you who give off for New Years Eve and New Years day, how are you handling that this year since New Year's Eve is on Sunday? Are you taking Friday the 29th off, plus Monday January 1, or are you going to give January 1, and January 2 as days off?

We will be off Monday, January 1, 2007 and Tuesday, January 2, 2007. Christmas will be the same: Monday, December 25, 2006 and Tuesday, December 26, 2006 (Christmas Eve observance).

I am faced with the same problem. We give 2 days, Christmas eve day and Christmas Day. In 2005 we gave Friday and Monday as the holidays fell on Sat & Sun. This year we have not decided what to do. Is anyone giving the Friday 12/22 and Mon., 12/25? Thanks.

We give 2 days every year so we're taking Friday the 29th and Monday the 1st off.

We observe New Year's day as a holiday, plus New Year's Eve as a 1/2-day holiday (i.e., we close early at 1PM).

For 2006-07, we'll be observing the 1/2-day New Year's Eve holiday on Fri, 29 Dec, in additional to the full day on 1 January for New Year's.

ISAWY: In accordance with our company policy we will be off On Monday for both Christmas and New Year 2007 holidays. Our Sows do not quit producing babies for holidays, so our work force involved the direct care of the animals must also spend sometime, normally not a full 8 hour day. Anyone who works on a Holiday will get their Holiday pay and the hours they work on a holiday. The Christmas holiday for the production team is paid as Double Time + the regular time worked.

We are closed Dec 25 only and are giving a floating holiday for 12-24-06. We are closed on Monday, 1-1-07, only for New Year's. We usually look at the bank's holiday schedule and try to follow that. Hope this helps.

We will give 1/2 day on Friday and off all day on the Monday.
