Code of Ethics

Our organization is looking to create a code of ethics that will communicate appropriate standards for acceptance of gifts. Our organization provides Health Care services to elderly, an the opportunity to build close relationships is possible. The organization wants to protect itself and staff from an unethical acceptance of a gift. Could anyone help me locate a proper sample policy that will provide this info. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Send me your email address and fax number (in case I cannot scan this in well). We just came on board with a client who has a policy. How well it is policed, I do not know. It is clear what they "expect", however.

fondy: Enable your user profile. I assume you're from Fond du Lac with that name. We're public sector from 25 miles south of you if you're in Fond du Lac, and our ethics code is fairly simple: we're allowed to accept gifts up to $10.00 in value, no exceptions. This allows us to accept the donut & cup of coffee, or lunch at someone's facility, etc, without worrying about breaking the ethics code, but doesn't allow enough value to change our judgement. (Hopefully!)
