compliance posters

Hello,
I am a partner in a small business with 15 employees. Last year we purchased posters required for state, federal and Osha. Do I need to purchase this again year after year? It cost around $60 at all the places I found on line for an "all in one" poster. If we need to update them this year are there any places to get these documents for free or very cheaply. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Check out the various state home pages for states in which you have operations. I purchase the all-in-one poster myself, but do so merely for convenience because we're located in four states. Just about all required postings should be available online through DOL or the state Labor & Industries in which you operate.

....And no, you will not have to update your posters annually. Most 'services' you buy them through, probably the one you got yours from, will send you a notice if new state required posters should be on display. The federal posters, thankfully, don't change that often....I don't think they've changed since the federal minimum wage changed. I've often said 'GNeil' whom I do not represent, but who furnishes our posters, is a great source and will update you anytime you have to update a federal or state poster.

Check your state laws. There may be postings that must be updated yearly-such as the information on statutory disability and workers' comp carrier.

And it's nice to see a small employer checking on these things.

Which brings up a point Nathan: As a first time poster, surely you know of the required 'maintenance fee' that should be sent either to Parabeagle, Ray, Ritaanz or myself. Anywhere between 25 and 500 bucks will cover you for two years. x:-)

Also, check with any trade organizations to which you belong -- they may offer the most up-to-date posters for your state for a nominal shipping fee (our local Farm Bureau offers them for the $2 it costs to mail them).

You should contact the KY Chamber of Commerce in Frankfort. I'm in KY as well and that is where I buy mine, just paper, not laminated and they are cheaper than what you paid.

I just received a new discrimination poster from EEOC with some changes from the most recent one. If you haven't received one, go to EEOC's website and look for posters/notification.

Since I didn't get a response from you on the difference, I did go to the site. I see nothing on the site which indicates there is a new or revised poster we are required to obtain and display. If I've overlooked something, please advise. Otherwise, GNeil Companies will notify me of the requirement. I feel sure they would have already.

Don't know about anyone else out there, but I've down this road more times than I care to count......I have been using GNeil ([url]www.gneil.com[/url]) and their "Complete Compliance" kits for years. I tell them the State(s) I need and they send me all Federal and State Labor Law/required posters, including UC and WC postings, laminated, and ready to go. They even have them in Spanish!

For me it's about convenience, ease of ordering and the fact that it eliminates the guesswork for me on wheather I am compliant or not.
