PT EE's working FT hours and vice versa

I have a question regarding how to address when PT ee's have worked FT hours for 2 qtrs. and FT's have worked PT hours for 2 qtr's. I am getting ready to address this with the Managers/Supervisors, but do I give them a warning to correct this OR do I have to change the status of the employee's? Is there a time limit on how long they have worked these hours without their classification being changed? The PT ee's would be eligible for benefits should their status change and I want to make sure we are doing what is right for the employee's and the company.

If the change is permanent or "long term", you need to change status.
BC/BS told me a few years ago "long term" meant more than a month.
