    Wow, stories like that really put the little gripes I have about work in perspective. What I don't understand is why companies or law firms tolerate people like that? I've heard stories like this from big law firms and the only explanation must be that these jerks bring in a lot of money. Still, this kind of behavior should not be allowed to continue.

    I'm a subscriber to this website and it says that Massachusetts law requires unpaid meal breaks for employees required to work more than 6 consecutive hours. You think the boss would know this as a lawyer and as an employer. He didn't even want her to use the restroom!

    That paralegal has a lot more patience than I do.  I would have walked out of there way before she did.
