GA. Workers' Compensation Background Checks

In the past, I have run WC background checks through ADP. They say the product is no longer available. Does anyone have another means of getting this information?

Worker's comp history?  For current, former, or prospective employees?

We would love to do this, but our Labor Lawyers have told us that you cannot use the information you get in determining if you are going to hire the person, and, if you take an adverse action against the employee in the future, they can use the fact that you knew the employee's Worker's Comp history to say that is what influenced your decision.

The Lawyers told us it was best not to get that information.

I certainly wouldn't want to know anything about someone's WC history.  That would simply give them leverage for a WC retaliation or discrimination claim as soon as something doesn't go their way.  Unless Georgia has a strange WC law permitting WC discrimination/retaliation, I can't imagine why this information would be helpful.
