Response to info from applicant

After interviewing for a job, an applicant sent me an email with personal info about his past.  The info - as far as I can tell - doesn't have anything to do with the job he interviewed for or anything discussed during the interview.  Before I got his email, we had already offered the job to someone else.  Do I just send this guy the standard rejection letter or should I somehow acknowledge the info he shared?  I appreciate any suggestions.
