Tap water for employees?

Hey, heard Mayor Newsom of San Francisco said the city will stop providing bottled water to its employees because of green issues with the bottles. They will now be offered only tap water.

My company has cold (not chilled) tap water fountains. We also have refrigerators where employees can put drinks from home and vending machines that sell bottled water, juice, and soda.

Just wondering what other companies provide.

We have one chilled bottled water dispenser from a vendor in the office and several chilled tap water fountains in the plant.

We have water coolers that employees chip in and pay for. We also have a vending machine that dispenses bottled water and other beverages. What would be nice is to have recycle containers for the empties--currently they get thrown away!

We are in Atlanta and provide filtered tap water at two locations.

We have a water filter dispenser. It uses regular tap water, but goes through several filters and an ionization process to keep germs down from people drinking out of their bottle and then refilling it (and hitting the dispenser). It dispenses both hot and cold water. The employees use it LOTS.

We have the standard water fountains available as well as vending services with bottled water, soda and gatorade.  We also provide coolers of gatorade on days when temp exceeds 90 degrees.

we have water coolers with free water and a vending machine where they can buy bottled water at a reasonable price

We have watercoolers and we have community fridges.  We also allow individuals to have mini fridges (dorm fridge) in there areas.

We have regular tap water, bottled water that may be purchased from a vending machine, and some employees pay for bottled water on tap.  There is a recycling bin for plastic bottles available.

09-20-07  Don't know about you all, but we are campaigning against bottled water of any sort since it generally doesn't have "floride" in it and offers nothing towards preventing tooth decay....bet you didn't know tha did you?

Yep I knew that.  Along with the fluoride in the public water also comes other things.  We learned our lesson last year when there was a town wide boil your water before you do anything with it...we've had coolers since.

We have a water coolers that are provided at no charge.  Recently, we purchased a coffee & hot chocolate machine, also at no charge to our employees.  Additionally, we have vending machines that they can purchase water & soda for a reasonable price and a refrigerator for employees.

Our offices are on two floors--each floor has its own water cooler that dispenses hot and cold water.  Refrigerators and coffee machines are also provided on each floor.  Employees do not have to contribute to the cost.  We also have a pop machine that only dispenses cans, which of course associates have to use their own money to purchase.

 We got the watercoolers a couple year's back after our Associate Opinion Survey--lot of people asked for them because our water that came out of the water fountains tasted horribly and wasn't very cold.

We provide hot and cold water coolers, coffee, tea and hot chocolate at no charge to employees.  Water fountains are also available throughout the building.  We also gave employees water bottles (with co. logo) to fill and have at their desk, to cut down on paper cups.

Each floor has a kitchen and fridge, so tapwater and ice are always available, along with water fountains that few use. We provide coffee and tea. We have an environmental bias against individual bottled water.  Though people bring their own coffee cups, I hate to admit we are still providing plastic cups (along with paper plates and plastic flatware).  Our vending machine is soda only.
