Too much information?

I came across this

short story online and it's made me think about other ways the employer could have handles the situation.

What would happen to this EE in your organization? Would he have been reprimanded, suspended, fired?

Please share your thoughts on how to best handle the situation.

If one of our employees did this they would certainly be in trouble for releasing confidential information. They have a right to publicly post how much they earn, but not to put our banking information out there. We would promptly close our account, and the employee would be disciplined. How far we would go would depend upon the cost to contain the damage and his history with us.

I agree with Nae also. Although in our case, since we are a bank and subject to some very strict regulations about customer information security, I think it would probably mean outright termination. If an employee would reveal our confidential banking information, can we really trust them not to reveal our customers' confidential information, even inadvertently?
