Is an injury after ee clocked out covered by WC?

An employee is injured (i.e.- slip and fall) after his/her scheduled shift and after clocking out, but while still on the premises. Is that claim covered by WC or General Liability insurance?

Were they just heading for home and tripped, or was there horseplay? That could make a difference. It also depends on your state laws and may depend on your work comp contract. I would turn it in to my carrier and see what they say.

I agree with Nae. Whenever I'm unsure whether something is a claim, I will fill out a first report of injury and send it to my carrier, then let them decide whether or not we are liable for WC.

I agree with the others as well. Here is what I use as my guide, "When in doubt, fill it out!"
