You click on User CP, then go to Edit your Details, then Custom User Title and it will put whatever you want in there. (I haven't done it yet because I haven't come up with anything I felt was very clever.)
The reason Frank is "pantsless" has a history from long before I signed up so I'll leave it to one of the others who has been around longer to explain that one to you!

cngr: How about Senior Northern Member? How about Experienced Member? How about Pinnacle Member? Perhaps we should all make suggestions for you to choose from.

kelros: a few years ago someone on here started a story about members on this forum and anyone who wanted to contributed. Consequently, it was full of twists, turns and was totally absurd. At one point in the story someone said Frank jumped over the wall of a cubicle and lost his pants. He's been pantless ever since. You would think it would keep him humble, but no such luck.

kelros -- I believe you can go into your profile and change your title.

Successfully changed my title. I might come up with something more fun later, but this is more fun than junior member. still love pantless on this particular stream - who would wear pants to the beach? someone whose HR department required it to prevent sunburn or abrasians.

I looked at my User CP and it looks to me like you can still edit it in your profile.

Oops -- after re-reading your post, I'll bet you are thinking of the thread title, not your title. When I click on reply to post, I do get a title option above the message section.

Nope, you had it right - your profile title. I don't have that option in my User CP. Oh well!

If you go into "Edit your details" under Profile, you should be able to change your title.
