How many staff do your managers supervise?

We are a residential facility for children with developmental and behavioral disorders. We have about 450 employees.

For anyone in a similar industry, how many employees report to your first-line managers? Some of our managers supervise up to 24 staff.

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

We are a trucking company. I can make a very good argument that drivers and children with behavioral disorders are similar.:D Our dispatchers are considered first line supervisors and each dispatcher is currently in charge of @ 45 drivers. We are planning to increase to 50-55 each within the next year.
