So what is "that whole bit"? I must've missed something somewhere. My daughter-in-law used to do something like that with my little granddaughters to make them smile or laugh, only she'd say "slowly I turn...step by step..." I guess I just thought it was something she made up.

It's from a skit from vaudeville days. I think the Three Stooges did it too. I am sure if you google 'slowly I turn' you will find plenty on it.

It is a skit from many, many years ago. Abbot and Costello did in a movie, I think the one with Wolfman in it, but I'm not sure. The Three Stooges did it as Nan mentioned, too.

I bet you can find the skit on youtube somewhere. I saw a description in wikipedia. It is a changable skit that can fit a lot of circumstances, and very funny when done right.

My favorite was the Three Stooges. I used to say, "Slowly I turn..." and my sister and I would laugh hysterically. Ahhh....the good old days.
