Overtime/Callback Pay

Hello,

We currently pay employees callback pay of 1 1/2 times. A quesion has come up as to whether employees should also get overtime pay for the callback pay as well.

For example, if an employee works 35 regular hours and has 10 callback hours. We are paying 10 hours at time and a half. Should the employee also get 5 hours of overtime, essentially getting time and a half twice on the 5 hours?

  • We also pay only 1 1/2 times for callbacks with a minumum of 4 hours if they come in to the facility, even if they are not here 4 hrs. We pay a minumum of 1 hr at 1 1/2 times if they respond electronically to a situation here. I think overtime plus the 1 1/2 times is overkill.
