Medicare Part D Notifications

So, I'm on cold medicene today, and can't seem to find this info for the life of me. I know it's in one of those e-mails I kept a LONG time ago, saying to myself, "hey - remember where this is - you'll need it some day."

But, of course, Murphy's Law dictates I can't find it.

On the Medicare Part D notification requirement - when you go on the CMS website to report your disclosures, are you reporting for the current benefit year, or the next benefit year? We're a calendar basis company, so would I be reporting for my 2010 or 2011 plans?

I know this is an easy question, but the haze of dayquil is seriously messing with my noggin.

You report when your plan changes for the upcoming plan year. For example: our plan year runs 4/1/10 through 3/31/11. On 4/1/10 I reported for the plan year 4/1/10 through 3/31/11.

I know what part D Medicare is, but I dont know what the notification is about. Please explain. We have an ee reaching age 65 this year. I thought they decided if they want to stay on our group plan or go w/ partB & partD themselves.

I have the same situation this year and was told by our broker that some health plans permit the employee to continue on the employer plan if they are still working and some do not (ours does), so you should check your plan.
