Job Descriptions - Essential Functions

Do any of your agencies have “regular attendance” as an essential function in your job descriptions? I attended an HR legal conference recently and it was recommended a statement requiring regular attendance be added to all job descriptions. Just curious.

We do not have it on every job description but we do have it in our employee handbook: "Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of your job."

We include this line under our essential functions, but the 'expectations' are defined in our attendance policy.
