Generally speaking... Yes, as long as the hours have been accrued/earned.

You can't deduct hours from an exempt employee's *salary,* but the Fair Labor Standards Act doesn't actually require that employees be provided with paid time off at all, so an employer's internal policies for use of PTO don't come into play regarding an employee's continued qualification as exempt under the FLSA.

With that said, take caution in California, because CA does have some state specific guidance on PTO deductions, which is discussed in Chapter 30 of [url=http://www.hrhero.com/50x50/]50x50. [/url]
