Pepper Spray

My employer has asked me to develop a policy on the use of pepper spray. We are a hospice provider and they want to arm our nurses with pepper spray since they often make visits at all hours of the night. Does anyone out there have something along these lines?

I'm not familiar with such a policy but think a good source wold be your local police or sheriff's department. They both have employees that carry weapons as a necessary part of their job and should have policies in place regrading use of force, etc. In the meantime, I'll do some research to see if I can find anything that might be useful.
