Do you post your SPD on your internal web site?

I am thinking about putting downloadable copies of our benefit plan Summary Plan Descriptions on our internal website as a way of complying with the requirement to make these available to staff, and wondered if others do this.

I'm thinking of the 403(b) plan documents at the moment, but eventually would also do welfare plans.

We post on a shared drive and then notify employees by email. Employees are also reminded they can print a copy if they wish.

We post plan documents for employee benefits (such as health, life, 401k, etc), and we also put the employee manual there. We do give each new employee hard copies to take home, but all updates, changes and restatements are posted on the shared drive.

We also have our SPDs, change forms, etc. on our intranet as well as our policies. It works well and saves on paper.

An outside firm that we use to assist with our 401(k) Plan sent me the following some time back concerning this very matter. Their response was:
"The SPD can be delivered via e-mail under the guidelines listed in the attachment (see address below). However, simply posting the SPD to the intranet site is not an acceptable form of delivery. Please review the below link. It should help to answer your question."
