This forum has discussed the difficulties with designating a bathroom to people undergoing gender assignment several times. This article has really thrown me though. Does this mean we need a 3rd bathroom?

Probably not but I think you may see more unisex bathrooms as a way of sidestepping this issue.

This isnt a big deal for men's bathrooms, I can assure you. Men make zero eye contact in the bathroom. A purple dinosaur could walk through and no one would notice.

Just a week or so ago I was at lunch with some co-workers and brought Pat up (our server was a dead ringer for Pat). Apparently neither one ever watched Saturday Night Live back then. After a few minutes one of them at least had a clue. I felt very out of it. Thank you, Joannie, for making me feel a tad more normal.

Oh, yeah, I remember the SNL Pat skits. I've actually known a couple of real-life Pats, where you couldn't really tell outwardly and so you hope if you hear their name it clears things up. Turned out that one was named Chris and the other one was Terry!

Believe it or not, the Pat sketches led to a feature film. I think they show this film to captured terrorists when waterboarding doesn't work.

I remember them. They made me feel uncomfortable. I like my world to be defined: good and evil, black and white, men and women, right and wrong, etc.

We all seemed to have fallen down the rabbit hole somewhere along the line...
