Bi-Weekly Payroll

We are changing to a biweekly payroll beginning January 2010. We are a Massachusetts employer, but we have Rhode Island employees who work in RI. Do we have to pay the RI employees weekly or can we pay biweekly since we are based in Massachusetts?

    Hello and welcome to the forum! Without knowing specifics about your state or organization, I would suggest that you pay schedule be whatever is stated in your policies.

    Some states like Texas have a payday law where pay dates must be posted for all employees to see. Therefore, whatever you've designated as paydays goes.

    Are all your employees governed under the same handbook? If you list pay days in there, I'd go by what your policy states.
