I just received a note from SHRM pitching a White Paper. Based on some research they did in January, it appears we might be in for quite a recession in 2009.

Nostradamus they ain't.

I got the same note. Other predictions they are making:

- Cell phones could become a distraction in the workplace
- Tiger Woods will win a future PGA tournament
- Fox News will have an alert
- Some of your employees will work harder than others
- Professional basketball players will continue earning more than me or you
- Your car may need an oil change in the next 3,000 miles
- It will still bug them when you call it "Sherm"

What time did you read that, Nae? Your information may be outdated. But even if it is, you'll be right again in a few minutes.

I didn't read it. I heard it: at a membership meeting, at a state council meeting, and at the state conference. All about a year ago. They told us to spell out the letters for awhile, but that didn't even last a year.

I didn't "read" it because I am not actually a national member (I am only a local member) so don't get their publications, etc.
